Pictures: Waiting for Magic

...because all I could think of during this shoot was Ace of Base.

Anyway, here's the finished Vampire Disney Princess dress! I grabbed some accessories and pulled together hair and makeup, but the top hat was in the trunk of her car from the steampunk/fetish night at a club she'd been doing promos for. =) This is also the goth-iest thing I've ever shot - good thing she knew what she was doing.

I <3 Charlie. When I was joking about her waiting for her prince-on-a-white-horse, she muttered that it better be a "2009 or better" horse.

There are a lot of really awesome ones here, but my favorite is number 3. Something about the background and the angle.

#4 is my favorite, mostly due to the hat, pose and the way the light hits.

Thank you thank you thank you for not leaving just her dress or her dress and lips in color and making the rest black and white. That is so over done and usually poorly done to boot. This actually works very well.

Also, in 9, it looks like you were shooting toward the sun and things got washed out a little. You can really see it in the darkened border that you added, especially on the tulle. You might want to up the contrast a bit, or at least darken the bottom of the dress. It almost looks like crushed velvet where the border is darkened, and it might look good with that throughout. Just a thought.

I just sank green and yellow and that was it. the whole "only one thing colored" in photos reminds me too much of those greeting cards with little kids holding roses, you know?

Yep! This is actually where my screen name originated back in 2003 when I started posting here. My activity has dropped off somewhat, even though I have linked my posting on here with my FB notes, but I never have time for more than a status update or mobile upload anymore.

I *love* #5. I quite like #6 and #7. I find #3 and #10 very compelling, but slightly... unsettling?

I like pretty much every one of these pictures. The editing is great, the dress is fantastic, location is good, and the model is beautiful.
