Intercon K co-gm?

I have a game I want to bid for Intercon K, but [livejournal.com profile] elenuial is still up in the air as to whether he'll go next year or not. Therefore, I will need to find myself another co-GM.

The idea of the game is the senior prom at the Necropolis, Sandman-style. It's their senior year, and everyone's full of hopes, dreams, and formaldehyde. There's a lot of John Hughes in the game too, as some of the professions in the Necropolis lend themselves well to 80s-movie teenage stereotypes.

(FWIW, in the poll I created for this game, Under the Sea was voted the best prom theme by far. In the Necropolis, it becomes Goth Under the Sea, obviously. Goth Luau/Sock Hop were other contenders, and Goth 80s was just redundant.)

So, would anyone be willing to help me in a runtime capacity? This means you'll not only be comped, but also not have to do any writing if you so choose. And get to help me run a hilarious game.

So... amazingly... nifty...

I'd happily commit to learning the game and reading all the characters and blue sheets and following your orders. I've only ever A-GM'd for a total of about 5 minutes, but suspect I could handle it for a high RP low mechanics Intercon game.

So ... short answer, I could help but represent mostly unskilled labor. Let me know if that would be useful.

I would probably rather play in it, but I will help if it makes sure the game runs. None of the other games at the convention so far are "I must play in this game" for me. Some seem interesting, but nothing I must play. So, doing GM stuff in a second slot doesn't lose me much.

If you were waiting to find a second GM to make the bid, then go ahead and make the bid. If someone else comes along to help you, then replace me and I'll play in it instead. But if not, you have a second GM regardless.

Hmm, the chance to help train someone else in floor GMing makes me more interested in helping. Increasing the number of people who can do AGM type roles out there is always good.

Since I am likely pretty busy this fall and this not planning to write anything new so far, I'd probably be available if needed in any manner. Will be there anyhow, will be running something else anyhow and always prefer running to playing most games. have experience GMing and A-GMing but not a lot of writing. Otherwise might play.

oh that sounds awesome. i totally would want to play, except for the whole "I'm head of Ops" things, so instead I will hope you will re-run it post-K. :-)

Good luck!

"not a lot of writing?" Not sure where you're setting your bar there.

I am not one of the old timers. I wont start naming people cause then someone might feel left out.

Two large weekend long games half a dozen 20+ person 4-6 hours games, helping steer our team through some more, and being an idea man a lot, yeah. I have written under 2000 pages of character sheets on my own. That's talented amateur level. And as Haz asked I wont have time to write much this year. But I really do prefer GMing to playing and have happily stepped in to AGM one weekend and several 4 hour games.

Let me know some time after you're done with Vestival if you do want me to be a floor GM. Despite lack of direct GMing experience, on further discussion with a seasoned GM, I think I have other easily transferable skills and would like to help. I don't need an extra person to "train" me, I'd just need the opportunity to learn the material and consult with you on the vision and boundaries for the game, how you want interactions to flow, etc.
