Today's Shoot Part II: Purple Teardrops I Cry

I seriously felt like Lady Gaga in this shoot. With my $1 Building 19 sunglasses and a bunch of other things I'd never worn before, I felt ridiculous.

I haven't done fashion work in a long time. Usually I do conceptual shoots, but this time, I just felt like grabbing some of the more vibrant parts of my wardrobe and running with it.

I think I like purple. I don't usually wear it, but I do love me some mustard yellow. Not for everyday wear, but the two together are curiously pleasing to me.

Again, personal picks much appreciated.

I like 5, mostly because I can see your eyes.

Sorry that was me. LJ keeps logging me out for some reason.

Second one is my favorite.

Holy cow, the makeup for this one was INCREDIBLE looking.

#2, it's funky and kind of fits with the colors and fashion.

The only makeup I wore for this was the lipstick - out of curiosity, why do you like it?

The lipstick was super shiny which just fit into the whole vibe of the picture.

And my god you have perfect skin. Your foundation was applied flawlessly, which is apparently because it wasn't there. :-)

Number 3 is so weird I have to pick it. Whatever that yellow thing you are wearing blends into the background so well, it almost looks like it splits you in two for that shot. For that weirdness alone, I have to pick it.

Note, that doesn't actually make it good, but it's so unique I have to choose it.

Erg, I don't care for the background color. It puts me off-ease, and makes me want to nitpick. However, I really like your your eyes and face came out in #5.

The eye effect in #5 is striking. The effect of your shadow also helps mute the OMG Yellow a bit :-)

I like it! Am particularly fond of #2. Didn't notice until the last couple of shoots, but when'd you cut your hair?

[identity profile] hazliya.livejournal.com 2010-02-25 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
I cut it to about my chin over the last year or two. I've decided to grow it out now. =)

I want to say 3, but the yellow undershirt is messing with my sense of perspective and sort of making it less pretty, so I am going to say 4 and 5. I like 5 because of the close-up on the glasses, which I love, and the lips, which is a great lipcolor! (Can I beg you to tell me what lipstick/gloss you are wearing?)

The lipstick you can get by putting a red coat (I used some random deep red from Maybelline that's older than the sun) over a brown base (I use the Milani shades) and then high gloss, like the vitamin-E gel. =)

#5 is my favorite - partly because of the shapes, partly because in the others, my eye is so attracted to (a) the face, and (b) the large amounts of bright yellow, so I miss on much of the detail on the outfit. In #5, my attention goes face, shapes of outfit/hair/knees, face, surrounding-yellow, then back to face again.

#3 would be runner-up, but while the "sawn in half" optical illusion is quite neat, it's also pretty distracting.
