So, I bolted out of work on Saturday to come home, throw costumes together, and head off to Brandeis.
That night, I was in
captain_ecchi's
League of Extraordinary Hogwarts Students, which was a lot of fun. There are pictures up - a lot of which are pretty awesome, and one of which I had to share with a certain fellow player xD
I played Edwina Weasley, a seventh-year Gryffindor with a penchant for Quidditch and mischief. Although my major plot goals were resolved in the first half an hour, there were more opportunities for me to stick my nose into other people's plots. It was also a lot of fun playing with Eric Wirtanen for a change, as I've only ever had him as a GM before, and the two of us jive with each other extremely well. My Edwina to his Watson was a laugh and a half.
Best. Marriage. Proposal. Ever.
He and I seriously need to hang out.
There were other things in the game that I missed entirely, but all in all I had a blast. Plus, that evening, I got to see
jingsaw in the con suite, where he revealed to me that he was a time traveler to regain cred when I challenged him for being dressed like a yuppie at a country club.
nyren played wonderful host to my inamorata and I as they laughed over ridiculous rewrites and I helped assemble some forest-green cyberfalls to be implemented the next day in a certain supervillain's costume. xD We woke up relatively early (my first time on an air mattress! It was neat!) and went to a great Indian restaurant, then headed back in plenty of time for the afternoon games.
bleemoo's
Welcome to Sunnyvale was a fast-paced game full of ridiculousness, where I played Candi Apple, whose outfit consisted of hotpants, heels, a tank top, and lip gloss. I was both broken and did a lot of breaking, especially when it involved bending over or adding to the residents' "No" list. (on the "no" list: encouraging bob, self-medicating, eating the doctors, rampaging, strippers, unnecessary defibrillators, trips to ireland, etc)
Some choice quotes:
"I'm not a commie, and I need you to bend over."
"My navel ring is a game mechanic?"
"Scramble porn! You said they needed stimulation! Besides, it keeps Bob distracted."
It wrapped early, and we got to sit around chatting about the pitfalls and boons that come with larping and the larp community, then headed off to dead dog with the bazillion other attendees. Needless to say, I was thoroughly exhausted upon coming home, and still need more sleep.
But I got the recap done. Now to get ready for
Tis No Deceit (it still has room for more players!) which I'm ridiculously excited for.
