Somewhat related to my last post:

When you think of old west/cowboys/wild west, what (somewhat modern) songs come to mind?

Other than the theme from Blazing Saddles, that is. But they could be in the same vein.

"Happy Trails," for duh reasons.

"Summerlea," Fred Eaglesmith. He's pretty good in general.

I'm a huge fan of paint your wagon...old musical (1964) but a couple of the songs are still kick-ass. I've got the CD and can send songs to you. You can listen to clips on amazon.com I think.

Hmm. I sometimes think of Native American songs, and Enigma has a whole album of modern experimental rock based on Native American music. Also, anything that has the sound of a player piano in it.
