An actual update on Intercon to come later, but for now -

Some of you may know that I've wanted to try my hand at campaign GMing for a while. I've gotten a lot of positive feedback about my games thus far, and this past Intercon, I had a lot of fun with the role that the GM plays in storytelling.

So, just to get some info:

[Poll #1538585]

I, for one, would love something like that, in either of your worlds. However, location would be a sticking point for me, since I don't own a car. Within the greater Boston area would be optimal. All the time intervals sound good to me.

Question, though: would this be BYOC, or GM-generated character sheets? I admit, I'm somewhat uncomfortable with BYOC, and I know that's a standard for many campaign LARPs.

I would love to play, help run-time GM, help write, help NPC, help anything, a campaign larp with you, esp in the Leash universe. The world intrigues me on every single level, the anthropologist in me especially.

i haven't actually played leash yet (you're rerunning, right?) but from what i know i would vote for that over Martha a whole lot. Not that Martha wasn't interesting!

SInce I'd have to come up from NYC anything that was not electronic (and there are some interesting options there by the way in mixed mode larping even during events) look for a venue that is mass transit accessible from way out.

I have to admit I have toyed with the idea of running a campaign larp many times over the years. It's something I've always wanted to do. I am a huge fan of continuity and figuring out where stories go next, which is kind of why I like writing sequels.

[livejournal.com profile] gower has never been too interested in a campaign larp, so I've never quite done it.

Both settings could work, but I think Leash has more potential for a campaign setting than Martha.

I might be interested, but I sincerely doubt that I have the time.

Some further clarification on my preference of universe:

Both Martha Stewart and Leash are entertaining, engaging concepts in their own right, and I think a campaign LARP could work well with either one. But Leash as a one-shot was presented with (AFAIK) significantly more background material, especially on BERR. That sort of background material and the exploration therein can make or break campaign games, in my opinion, as there's simply more to do with the knowledge as presented.

Now, Martha Stewart could develop that, and if it did, it could run well. I mean, the whole dinner party had something of a clandestine feel to it, and that could be built on to include some sort of secret society leanings. Leash, on the other hand, could be as complex and interesting as, say, a game set in the Psi Corps in the Babylon 5 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babylon_5) universe. There were a huge number of questions I heard bandied about during the run alone: How is BERR run? Who makes what decisions? How do different people feel about the current laws in place? Are there any opposing groups, and if so, who are they and what do they do? What really goes on at the Sanctuary and the Academy? Where do E-Phos come from in the first place? All of these are potentially explorable questions for a campaign game, and personally, I'd love to see that.

I am not sure how this would translate to answers to many of your poll questions, so I'll just post here:

- I'm afraid I'm near critical mass for campaigns at this point, but I'd reeally try to do this. If I couldn't commit enough to PC, I'd at least NPC when I could (heck, I generally prefer NPCing in campaigns anyway)

- I don't know how to answer the question about worlds because I haven't played in Leash (something I am sad about-- I hope you run it again!), but both sound really intriguing.

Basically, I think it'd be awesome if you did it, and I'd participate to the best of my ability, probably being more help as a PC or NPC than as a GM.
