The monster is DONE.

I'm finished with it! And I'm pretty happy with how my first real dress came out. And I stuck to the constraints of my minimalist sewing rules - AND I used boning for the first time ever!

Hopefully I'll find a model for it soon so that I can photograph the beast on an actual person. xD

Now, time to get rid of it... Any suggestions? Ebay? I don't even know what to charge for it to begin with.

All's I wanted was to finish it so that I could use my form for something new. =)

Take it to the steampunk event in Boston this weekend (everyone knows that gears = steampunk) and auction it.

There's a steampunk event in Boston? Goodness.

I want to go to a steampunky thing with my Geiger counter and see who has radium on their clothes. Fun times.

Often I find that steampunk fashion is overwrought, too busy, but this is just enough to know that it's special.

Great work! That steampunk event sounds like the best option. With Ebay you'll have to worry about mailing it, etc. It sounds like you could get money up front at the steampunk event.

Unfortunately, steampunk event is poorly timed with work tomorrow.

I would look into Etsy. Even if you don't end up selling it there, you might be able to get an idea of price.

What size is it? Also, I second the other suggestions.

It's corset-back, so I think the smallest it'll fit is a 32 bust and 25 waist. Anything bigger isn't a problem.

This is gorgeous and I love it.

Also; I got the D5000 today. It was on sale and I had the money saved, and I'm already in love. Updates to come as I...read the manual line by line and figure everything out.

It's the only one that has live view, though, if that makes a difference in your decisions about a good SLR - At least, as far as Nikon and Canon are concerned. Not sure about the sony, but the Sony 500 is the comparable one to the d5000. The kit lense is 18-55mm, but there's a 55-...something lense that's only 200 dollars extra that I'm planning on getting to accompany it, next time I get paid.

And now I've rambled. Yay! We need to visit soon </3 I can bring the camera and you can play.

It came out really great- I especially love the asymmetrical gears on the collar.
