The first one was a shot I took to get my new necklace in the picture, and the second I got distracted because I -literally- found a bug. Weevil, specifically.
Welcome to the world of brunettes! I think it looks quite good. But then again.. that's the color of my hair so I suppose I'm a bit biased. :P Auburn highlights = awesmeness.
Makes me wonder how I'd look with lighter eyes- the contrast is gorgeous. *needs to stop analyzing people's looks for artistic value*
There's always the world of colored contacts... though I'm one to talk, since I could never stick my fingers in my eyes. =/
But yeah. Rule of hair/eye contrast: extremely light and extremely dark hair make eyes of any color pop. Diffused hair highlights catch the eyes, though, so when you have multiple shades, you have to compensate with a face-framing cut.
I think I recall the person who does my hair in RI said that to me before. I was contemplating making my auburn highlights (which I always get in the summer and then they fade) a permanent thing. Decided against it in the end because I'm too lazy/poor for the upkeep.
As for contacts- I'd totally experiment with every color I could think of but I can stick my fingers in my eyes either. I'm too paranoid with my eye health since I depend on them so much. I should have turned orange by now with all the carrots I eat.
I've always wanted to get my fall violet rings as a more permanent thing (me and my color-change eyes). But between fittings for my contacts and shipping and upkeep, not to mention the whole eye poking thing, I don't know if I'll ever be able to.
Hair, though, is painless. Unless you do the dumb thing and bleach your roots and length all in one step - your scalp will protest. In a red and irritated manner. I had a friend who'd never bleached her hair before and did the whole thing at once and ended up being unable to dye it for a week because her scalp was so raw. So she had to keep the sickly orange look until her head calmed down. =/
