So last night, I finished the petticoat. This morning, I hemmed the skirt and tried on the two together.

So here's the hemmed skirt. I tried to make it a little "pointy" in places to give the skirt an interesting edge (and to look less like a green Strawberry Shortcake xD). I left the slide space in front because scrunching of the skirt in that area is very unflattering. It also serves a practical purpose if I mirror it in back, which I did.

I decided I liked wearing the bow in back, aesthetically and also for the aforementioned practical purpose.

Here's the petticoat. It's just 8 layers of simple soft tulle (which I scrunched after taking this photo) and trim with enough room for elastic cord. I also let the excess trim dangle rather than hemming it and putting velcro or a snap on it, in case it could accent the skirt bow, like...

...so. I tied it and pulled the ends through. This isn't a very good picture, since it's difficult to get pictures of the back, but it looks like the bow has two loose ends and I really like it. I might want to do something similar with the shirt. I also want to trim the petticoat - it looks way too long and it'll be poofier the shorter it gets. What do you guys think, trim it or no?

So next I put the katamari on the skirt and make a shirt. Or the ears first, I'm not sure. Anyone have any suggestions on the style of shirt? I'm thinking poofy cap sleeves with bows on them, but the main body... maybe loose with a bow to pull it tight in the back?
