My wardrobe's revenge

hazliyaSo as I was getting dressed today, I looked through my clothes and mused to myself that I have a lot (A LOT) of black clothes, something that seems to remain constant throughout my style life. And, given my plans to look for green shoes this afternoon (hence my angst about my Miraculous Shrinking Feet), I made a mentally binding promise to try on the first brightly-colored, patterned thing that caught my eye.
I need more colors and patterns in my wardrobe. I like them, I really do - but I don't like having to match quite so much. But if I have a few extra minutes to shuffle around doing nothing in the mornings, I can match my damn clothes.
Anyway, as I'm browsing through the shoes in the Another Teen Store (I'll check the bag later), I walked past the sale rack and saw it.
A bright pink, polka dot, apron-ruffle lined hem thing.
And my inner monologue went "sonuvabitch."
So, to satisfy myself, I tried it on. And to my surprise, the damn bastard looks absolutely darling on me. And it was cheap.
But bright pink.
And polka dot.
And ruffly.
But I bought it anyway on the basis that I'd finally found purple tights for my Katamari costume in that store, and that was a good omen.
Anyway, here it is:
The picture does it no justice; I cannot stress enough just how frilly and how pink it is. It even has little white buttons on the cap sleeves, which are poofy. And it ties shut with polka-dot strings just below the bust, which just puts the sugary icing on the Haz cake of cute.
Feel free to pretend you don't know me if you see me wearing it. Even though I'm subconsciously in love with it and looking for an excuse to wear it, I might tell people that someone else dressed me that morning.
