While digging through old pictures for a meme, I discovered a small cache of pictures of my cats from Christmas.
The silver tabby is Loki (very aptly named) and the black quasi-tuxedo is Medea (also aptly named).

Loki likes to have chair fights. By himself. As in, fighting the chair.

He's weird.

He also feels compelled to hide in piles of things that make noise - the two of them barely sleep during Christmas and make the wrapping process impossible.

We just put it on the table, and from the opposite end of the house Loki simply knows that there's something he can chew on somewhere.

And wherever he goes, Medea will follow. She knows he's going to do something to make us come running, and people around = getting attention.

When he grooms her, for every ~7 licks, he gnaws on her once. She'll swat him occasionally.

There was something soft and squishy in the bottom of the box, and there's no such thing as a box too small for a cat. Thus, claimed.

Her favorite spot to flop is the table, seeing as she'll be greeted by everyone who walks through the door as well as anyone eating, reading the paper, or anything else at the table.

Black cats can be ridiculously hard to photograph. But that thing she's sitting on? Mum made it especially for the cats - it's a plank of wood braced under the windows with L-brackets so that they can look through the glass.

And here's why she's not quite a tuxedo: The only white she's got on her is a small bib, one big white whisker, and small spots on her underside at the top of each leg. Although I did pick her because she was the most awkward-looking kitten in the kennel, she grew up to be sleek and rather pretty.
I love my kitties. They're one of the best parts of visiting home.
