Dragon half scanlations!
Nov. 30th, 2007 01:52 pmSo, for anyone who has seen or heard of Dragon Half, it was a totally and bizarrely random 2-episode anime released a while back. That's right - it was too weird to be an anime. I loved it for its silliness. And I got a hold of the first manga volume (of three), which was in Spanish. That's not a problem for me, but it was difficult to come by and a pain for non-spanish-speakers to translate. And the only translations out there were crap. And this was before I had a scanner and the knowledge that fanlations existed, else I would have helped.
However, I recently discovered this translation project, which is not only quality, but regular in updates! A new chapter (out of 60) is posted for downloading every week (they're at 28), which I definitely intend to follow.
Folks, the manga is pretty darn close to as screwed up as the anime. And that's a huge entertainment factor. It's worth the look, even if you've never seen the anime, and it'll at least give you a few giggles.
A quick synopsis of the series:
In a fantasy world where elves, dragons, slime molds, and various other monsters are at their most awkward, there lives a girl named Mink. Super-strong and super-awkward due to her mixed parentage - her mother is a dragon, father a dragonslayer (which makes for an interesting household) - she, like any normal girl, is in love with the kingdom's pop star: singer and dragonslayer (oops) Dick Saucer. After a chance meeting, her mind is made up, and she takes her two friends with her on a quest to find a rare potion that will turn any creature fully human. However, the grudges that she and her parents have earned along the way will come back to haunt and hinder her in a ridiculous fashion.
So, if you're looking for something cute and fluffy and bizarre to read every week, this one's for you.
WARNING: Not worksafe. Lots of sex references and tits a'plenty. And butt.
