Dancing something other than tango? What IS this?

So, on a whim, I dressed up and went to Ballroom's annual social, the Winter Ball on saturday night. A bunch of socialdance was going, and I knew it'd be a good chance to hang out with some of the ballroom crowd again. There were a lot of people taking pictures, and as I just got one person's set I thought I'd post them here.

Turns out my 50s housewife dress is good for dancing. Tucked away for future reference. =)

Man, I miss dancing. I need to go out and dance more.

And I cannot wait for the Valentine's Tango. It promises to be many levels of awesome. Like, "my dancing could totally beat 'I Wanna Be The Guy' with no saves" awesome.

Very cool. I just took an intro to ballroom evening course at the local tech school a few months ago, so I'm starting to see the appeal of ballroom dances. I've got a lot of rennaisance, english country, and contra dancing under my belt, but ballroom is so different, so much more, intimate, in some ways.

elenuial and I competed in ballroom for a couple years, and lost taste for competition. But then we found Argentine, and got hooked on the dance, music, and subculture. If you think ballroom is intimate, argentine tango is at least tenfold.
If you have nothing else to do, you should check out the valentine tango we're having at WPI. It's always been a good time. In fact, I think I'll post about it! =)
