Foam phoenixes

So, after making basket-weave phoenixes out of ribbon for last new year's, I thought it might be fun to make them out of the thin foam I have sitting in the office.

They're super cute and squishy. And resilient. Plus, the colors of foam I have are red, white, green, yellow, pink, orange, and blue. The combinations have the potential to be either neat or horrifically tacky. I'm not sure what to do with them, exactly - they could be fun accessories or some such.
It's relaxing for me to do little things like these. I've been stressed with the job hunt (though I did get two more apps out yesterday) plus the events of last night, and needed to do something rather pointless to clear my head.
Maybe I'll play Wii for a while. Shoot zombies, that kind of thing.

EDIT: The measurements are:
5" wingspan
4" beaktip to end of body
6" tail curls
If anyone wants one, comment on what colors you want and (if you need it shipped) give me a few bucks for a box and shipping. I have no idea what they cost to ship, so... $5 sound like it'll cover it? I don't think it'd be more than that.

Date: 2008-02-12 07:42 pm (UTC)How big are they? A tiny one of those (like 2-3 inches) would be neat latched onto a shirt pin or something. Bigger ones would be especially nice if with a painting of a bright cloudy sky or something, with two or three of these pinned or sewn onto the canvas so it looks like they're flying in it (sure they'd stick out, but they don't look that thick, so it'd prolly work. Plus sticking out'd be the point. I bet it'd look awesome.)

Date: 2008-02-13 04:40 pm (UTC)Make a mobile out of them?
Fit the nose with a hook, and add a slingshot? (How well do they fling...)
Make a variegated flock and put in a shadowbox on the wall?
Hang in window a la dreamcatchers?
Attack to fishing line and poles, for instant cat toy?
Hang from a tree for easter (What? Phoenixes are a symbol of riding from the grave just like.. well, you get it. Better than Bunnies....)
