Gearing up early

I want to bid a game for Intercon I.

Yay! Planning early!

Boo! Doing this alone.

I really like the idea of the game, but the part about running and writing it by myself when I've only ever done that once (along with elenuial) is daunting enough to make me want to scrap the idea.

I wonder, though - should I bid it and then worry about all this later? There is the chance that it won't get accepted, and I won't have anything to fuss about.

That, and elenuial wants to run a game that I'd love to be a part of, but I had a hard enough time with running one game, never mind two. And the second of them alone. =/

And (of course) I already see games that I'd like to play in, but don't know the scheduling for.

Hm. A good plan might be to wait until the initial schedule goes up (anyone know when that might be?), writing in the meanwhile, and deciding whether or not to bid it on how well it's turning out. And if anyone turns up to help me write/run it.

What do you guys think?

This past Intercon was the first time I had written a game "by myself" (Though I did have help from Phoebe). It was stressful, but I'm happy I did it.

That being said, if you want help, advice, or whatnot, let me know and I'd be more than happy to help out. If you're still not sure you want to go ahead with it, you still have time and you should hold off bidding it for a bit.

If you like the idea, write the game. If you can't write it by yourself, get help. If you can't run it by yourself, get help. Or get help for both. If there is another game you are committed to playing in, request not to be scheduled opposite of it in your bid. Best to do that before scheduling happens, because then the schedulers are more able to accommodate that request. As for elenuial, he might be able to find someone else to help him run his game, so no one person has to miss out on playing in too many game slots?
