More foliage

So, instead of sitting around and whining about not having anyone to shoot (with, um, my camera), I decided that sunset was an optimal time to take some nature shots. I loaded up my camera, iPod, and sweater and wandered up to campus.

Here are the results of my walk. Not edited yet, though I'm not sure some of them need to be.

Do any of them especially stand out? I'm thinking of making some prints.

I'm getting much better with this camera, and better as a photographer overall. It's starting to show, and the whole process is a little scary.

3 has amazing color contrast... and 7 has amazing dark/light contrast.
12 is just pretty. :)
14 is really cool in a way I can't really describe... perspective, maybe? It seems like it would make a good print.
16 would make a good card or postcard, with its framing.

I am not very often free, but would love to be photographed randomly. Well, maybe on days that I feel pretty, since some I do not. :)

It's an Olympus SP-560uz (http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1316) (although I didn't pay as much as the site suggests for it). I'm really fond of Olympus in general, but as I was shopping for a new camera (my old consumer-grade cheapo camera kicked it, and I wanted a new, higher-quality one) I fell in love with the model when I saw it on the display floor. The easy thing to do is list all the things you want in a camera, then go play match-up.

Very nice work. Get down to NYC during warmish weather and we can hit the botanical gardens together maybe bring along a couple of models and really have fun.
