Looks great! I didn't think the black looked that off, but seeing it without it there's actually a big difference - there's much less contrast against your skin tone which really heightens the effect of your eyes and hair.
I'm afraid I don't agree. I feel like your features are hiding the the paleness. Too much sun. But I appear to be the lonely dissenter, so it must be a matter of taste.
