Critter!

So! Yesterday I went out for a walk in Institute Park behind WPI, and was walking along the water when I saw what looked to be a largely oversized ferret swimming around the shallows and reeds. My first thought was that it could be an otter, but:
1. I have no idea of the water quality in that pond.
2. They're rarely, if ever, found around here.

Has anyone else seen them, or have a better idea of what it could be?

If it were MI, I'd guess a muskrat. I Google image searched 'muskrat' and came up with a few things... here's one. I think they could live out here. :)

They can look otter-y from land, especially as you can't see the long whippy tail when they're swimming. :)

I would second the muskrat guess. In southern NH at least they're all over the rivers.

I'd guess a good ol' rat. There's plenty of them in Worcester, and some of them like water.
