Today's Shoot Part I: Ghost Dog
Feb. 23rd, 2010 10:30 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)

So, I did a four-part shoot today. The first one was an experiment in makeup, since I just got a ridiculous amount and was inspired by Chinese opera.
The Hapi coat made it in there as per photographer's request. It fit the colors, so... and yes, I have a tail. xD
Also, it's been forever since I modeled. Like, at least six months. It took a while to get back into it, and I think I'm pretty happy with the results, despite being so rusty.

Despite knowing nothing about makeup, I'm pretty proud of how this came out.
In this, and the next few posts, I'm definitely looking to hear people's favorites. While the ones I post are my personal picks, there are still like, five of each. I really need new icons/profile photos, so any opinions would definitely be appreciated. =)

Date: 2010-02-24 03:47 am (UTC)Your make up looks fantastic. I'd love to try it myself sometime. It seems like it the lipstick might smudge a lot onto the bottom lip, but it looks very crisp in all the photos.
The Hapi coat is also really beautiful.

Date: 2010-02-24 04:00 am (UTC)4 - Shows the tail, plus is a good pose, kind of an "I am listening" thing.
5 - This has a nice defiant or resolute look to it. I don't know if that's what you were trying for, but that's what it makes me think. It's kind of unique in that respect.
6 - This also features the tail, but with more of an "I am uncertain" look.
Any of those three could work as icons, depending on what kind of mood you want to convey.

Date: 2010-02-24 09:31 pm (UTC)I'm most fond of 2 and 3, with 4 and 6 close behind. Different expressions + different types of backgrounds makes for some very diverse-looking shots despite the identical setting + costume.
I agree with
Contrasting expressions of 2 vs. 6 is neat - 2 seems thoughtful, turned inwards, at-ease while 6 seems thoughtful, turned outwards, and a bit of... apprehension? uncertainty? lost in memory?
