Wedding pictures!

---} Flickr Album {---
I took like 150 pictures, but I just put a chunk up there. If you want bigger versions/wonder if I have a shot of something, feel free to comment or email at hazharrower AT gmail.com.
I'll let Shaughn and Nuance give a more detailed account, but in short:
- Good time to be had. Now have a blister the size of Texas from dancing. Was worth it.
- Whoever gets married next (
- Fitchburg and alpaca is always a good Plan B.
- FFVII victory music is very appropriate at wedding ceremonies. As is the Imperial March. (Happy 30 years!)
More later.

EDIT: Anyone else take pictures/know what's up with the wedding photographer? I'd really love to see some more pictures. =)

Date: 2007-05-27 11:53 pm (UTC)And I screened it in case it hurt or made you guys feel guilty or some such thing - I thought that it would be in bad taste to leave it up. I'm giving the commenter benefit of the doubt, seeing as they might not have known that both you and Shaughn read my LJ. =/ I don't think they would do something crass like that on purpose.

Date: 2007-05-28 05:43 pm (UTC)If someone wanted to be a part of our wedding day and wasn't, we apologize, but there was just no way to get everything and everyone. Most likely, we wanted you there as well. It was not a value judgment, it was a difficult game of numbers and critical decisions. We even dropped the ball on a few people simply because we were overwhelmed and failed to quadruple check the final mailing lists.
If someone is my friend, they can be honest with me and tell me that they wished they could have been there and offer their congratulations from afar.
No slight was intended to anyone (well, maybe a couple distant family members), and I am sorry if we weren't able to get everyone there. If this person wants to know why they didn't make the cut, they can ask and I'll be completely honest with them.
To my mind, it wasn't the guest list that was the hardest decision to make, it was picking groomsmen. Tell me that's not a can of worms.

Date: 2007-05-29 05:14 am (UTC)All I actually said was: "Wow, cute pictures. Now I'm sad I wasn't invited. *sadness*" I hadn't at all meant it to be a pity play, but I realize also that
Perhaps I should have added a smiley. I dunno.

Date: 2007-05-29 05:26 am (UTC)Looking back, I guess I should have locked the post for Shaughn, Nuance, and Adam, since I took the pictures for them, and so as not to upset anyone who didn't get to go. I can be oblivious like that sometimes. =/

Date: 2007-05-29 05:47 am (UTC)I apologize if it made you self-conscious, though. And I'm glad you ommented again - otherwise there would've been potential for the drama harpies to descend. =/

Date: 2007-05-29 06:28 am (UTC)So I tried to make a generalized statement about my position and feelings regarding those who did not make it onto our final list.
to Rigel
Date: 2007-05-29 06:32 am (UTC)That list was very long.
You also made the first cut which removed distant family and potentially massive drama. This list was not very different from my New Year's Party invite list.
That list was also very long.
The short list was compiled, then padded with the guests and significant others of the short list... then shortened again.
Considering how many people you know (You nexus, you), if you ever get married, you'll either have to rent out an aircraft carrier or just elope.

Date: 2007-05-29 06:35 am (UTC)No. Don't cave in to the drama llama. Locked posts are for sissies. :)

Date: 2007-05-29 07:36 am (UTC)~120 girls per class, 75% in the high-income bracket, 25% with some sweet connections.
We had drama. Oh, did we have drama.
But, yeah. I know several people who troll my journal who would've said something like "Oh, nice pix. Thanks for rubbing it in our faces that we didn't get to go. I would never do something like that to you, but it's cool. I guess I'm just a different person."
Just an example of what I'm used to dealing with. x.x

Date: 2007-05-29 07:42 am (UTC)Also, my pirate ship wedding idea has been rejected. He did say that it would be an option if we had it Pirates 3 style: while swordfighting in a windy vortex of the undead.
*sigh*

I was mentioning my having congratulated you over AIM recently to note that the person who seemed to have caused the screened comment -- me -- actually had been congratulatory, though you hadn't yet realized that I was that person. I wasn't saying that I'd been congratulatory in that post, or that you had known until just then that the post was by me.
Re: to Rigel
Date: 2007-05-29 12:08 pm (UTC)Again, I'm not saying you shouldn't have done what you did. At no point was I saying that.
I was saying that the comment was honestly not meant as a big deal, and I think that this has all become a bigger conversation than need be. :) For that reason, I think I'm dropping it, if that's all right with you.
Squeeee: pictures, yay!
